Alone in the Dark is a survival horror game created by Atari. The main character in the series is Edward Carnby, a private detective .
The story is based on the writings of H. Q. Lovecraft, but in the aftermath of the first game you will appreciate influences from other sources such as voodoo, the Wild West or the works of H. R. Giger. The new Alone In The Dark recreates many scenes with dirt and horrific cinematic presentations, compiling many challenges and always with a perspective into the narrative stories within the game. This is an innovative game with a menu style very similar to a DVD, where you can select chapters which allow players to demonstrate their skills and repeat unblocked chapters.

The story tells an adventure of Edward Carnby in Central Park (New York). When you start the game, Carnby does not remember anything about his past, and will have to go collecting data from his memory throughout the game in an apocalyptic night, starting in a hotel and finishing in the center of Central Park. His mission will be to save the world as we know it.

This new version has many developments in comparison with the former ones. Interaction with the scenarios is almost complete. With objects that you can collect and keep in your jacket, you can create many types of weapons or explosives. Action and puzzle by chapters: just like a television series, the game has been divided into chapters, with almost all of them available right from the beginning of the game.
